Carol Rountree

Carol Rountree is the Chief Volunteer Officer for Cincinnati Cares, where she coordinates all aspects of volunteer engagement including creating the volunteer program for Cincinnati Cares, marketing the Give One for Cincy Mayor incentive to all Cincinnati nonprofits and supporting Cincinnati nonprofits in using the Cincinnati Cares platform.

Her passion is working with people and feeling like she is making a difference in the lives of others.

Carol brings nearly a decade of volunteer management experiences and two decades of nonprofit experience with her to Cincinnati Cares. At Inter Parish Ministry, she was able to streamline the volunteer program, increase the numbers of volunteers by 50 percent and integrate a state of the art online volunteer management system. She was also able to use her computer and technology background to help integrate better use of technology to the staff at Inter Parish. She was the first employee at UGIVE.org and was able to make connections to nonprofits all over Greater Cincinnati and help create the functionality needed to make the UGIVE.org website useful and user-friendly for nonprofit users. Her biggest asset to UGIVE.org was her understanding of web based systems and how to help users navigate the site. She also helped create and give the trainings for the Americorp Members who did their service at UGIVE.org.

She served time on the board of the Cincinnati Association of Volunteer Administrators as both the president and membership chair. She has also served on the Serve Ohio planning committee for the Conference of Service and Volunteerism for several years.

Her passion for volunteerism started at a young age when she volunteered to help teach Sunday School. From this volunteer experience, she moved on to get a degree in elementary education and sociology. As an adult, she was a Girl Scout Leader for 10 years, has run her church’s Sunday School program and has volunteered at her children’s schools.
